Mr. Dharmender

Insects strongly shape the chemical properties of the plants. Insect herbivory consumes plant tissues and disrupts their normal physiological and metabolic processes. His

research mainly focuses on whether Brassica juncea primed with jasmonic acid and subjected to insect herbivory results in same epigenetic modifications and transgenerational stress responses. Additionally, he works on how transgenerational stress responses pass from parental to F1 generation through comparative study of epigenetic inheritance and biochemical responses. Therefore, his research focuses on the induced responses and epigenetic modifications due to JA priming and insect herbivory on Brassica juncea parent plant and its subsequent generation.
