Crops are always under a constant threat of insect and pathogen attack. Chemical control of this menace has taken a significant toll on the environment. Exploring alternative management measures like biological control and induced resistance is important for creating environmentally friendly solutions. Endophytes have naturally evolved to coexist with plants, reducing the possibility of harmful effects on the environment or plant. This makes them a sustainable substitute for chemical control measures. Her research focuses on the ‘immuno-booster’ properties of endophytes against a combination of insect and pathogen stress in plants.
